Desiree T. Palmer, D.M.D., P.A.
Dr. Desiree T. Palmer and her team of professionals are dedicated to maintaining a reputation of excellence in dental care. She has over 25 years of experience in the dental field and strives to provide patients with the best dental care available. She graduated with a degree in biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College and received her professional education from Tufts School of Dental Medicine. She also holds professional memberships with the National Dental Association, the American Association of Women's Dentists, the Academy of General Dentistry, Old North State Dental and local study clubs.
In her spare time, Dr. Palmer lectures and volunteers with several local organizations in the Durham community. She especially enjoys mentoring young people who plan to enter the dental profession. She belongs to several community service organizations including, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Links, Inc. and is active in her church, Holy Cross. Dr. Palmer is married to Michael J. Palmer, and they have three sons: Austen, Brandon and Colton. Dr. Palmer is now a proud grandmother to Brianna Lillie Palmer.
Pereen M.K. Bubala, D.D.S.
Dr. Pereen Bubala attained her undergraduate degree in biology from The City College of New York and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Howard University College of Dentistry. She served as a general practice resident at Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers in Brooklyn and Queens, New York.
Dr. Bubala started her career as a dentist in community health, where she developed a passion to bring awareness of the importance of a healthy dentition to one's entire well-being. She enjoys her work and makes every effort to provide a positive and lasting difference.
When not engrossed in dentistry, Dr. Bubala enjoys spending time with her family, learning about new cultures, and keeping in touch with family and friends all over the globe.
Carlos Stringer Smith, D.D.S
Dr. Carlos Stringer Smith is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated with a degree in biology from Hampton University and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. A member of the American Dental Association, he is passionate about preventive dentistry and issues surrounding health disparities and access to care. He has spent the last several years practicing community-centered dentistry in rural North Carolina. He has been published in both the Journal of Dental Education and the Journal of Oral Health Management in the Black Sea Countries, where he has contributed to groundbreaking research towards the establishment of the first and only dental school in Liberia. He previously served as the National President of the Student National Dental Association, the nation's premier professional group for minority dental students, where he instituted the country's only annual national leadership conference for dental students of color.
Dr. Smith also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School and serves as an associate minister and college-age pastor at World Overcomers Christian Church. He enjoys sports, traveling, and history. Dr. Smith is married to Heather L. Smith and resides in Durham.
